Hi Steve
You have no idea who I am, I could be anyone in the street, the bloke buying the banana smoothie or someone cruising home after a great surf.
About 3 years ago I moved to Sydney with my wife. We moved from Brisbane where the closest surf was about 1 and a half hours drive. I had no mates on the Goldie to call to see if it was any good and after a couple of years almost gave it away.
When moving to Sydney I thought I would take my board, however would probably sell it and take up some other sport.
Anyway as luck would have it my first experience of a beach in Sydney was Collaroy just opposite the surf shop. No surf here, must be a flat spell???? So I left my wife to sunbake on the best beach in Sydney and cruised into the surf shop. I was greeted by a chap who introduced himself as Brook, next thing I know I am showing him my 6’4 and working on a trade to what he called the best summer board ever.
I bought a custom CM3(had to be yellow) and waited until it arrived.
I now live on the Goldie and still have the CM3 with me to this day. This is a miracle as I am the sort of guy who trades boards in every 12 months to get a new board for Xmas. So instead of trading this board I went a year without getting another board so I could have 2 boards.
I go from the CM3 to the 6’4 and back again, and every time I jump back on the CM3 I get a great buzz and say to my mates ‘you know this is the best board I have ever owned’.
I just came back from another surf this afternoon and am high on the surf I just had. The board has dings all over it, cracks here and there and is laden with stickers. It has a story to tell like those old guitar cases you see with stickers all over and torn edges.
I will be ordering another one soon, however don’t want to get rid of this one, and maybe I never will.
So mate hopefully you read this whilst you are traveling, or back in Sydney, and get a buzz, cause that is how I feel every time I hop on my CM3.
Thanks again and all the best for a cracker ’06 and beyond.
PS. Photo attached of the day I got my CM3. Can you please also let me know if I am still able to get this model and these dimensions.
Regards
Chris Dalton
